Dong Hoi & Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park

The National Park has more than 300 other caves, including the Worlds largest cave, Hang Sơn Đoòng. Hang Sơn Đoòng is believed to be between 2-5 million years old, and the dimensions reach more than 3.1 mi long, 660 ft high and 490 ft wide.

To explore this incredible cave, it takes 4 days and 3 nights and must be done through Oxalis Adventure Tours. It also costs about $3,000.

There’s also a bunch of other things that can be done around the park.. Check it out below!!

Getting to The National Park & Where to Stay:

If Traveling by Train- you must go to Dong Hoi

  • From the respected station, rent a motor bike for 2-3 days. It’s a 45 minute drive to Phong Nha (a little town outside the National Park).
    • Train tickets- here
  • We stayed at a place called ‘Coco House’. It’s right along the river and has food and other services! Check it out HERE.
    • They will help you book National Park tours and other activities as well.
  • PS- don’t ride your motorbike back at night, you’ll get a face full of bugs 🙂

If Traveling by Bus- You can go straight to Phong Nha 🙂

  • Buy bus tickets- here

They also offer many other tours, including over night options! Learn more about ‘Jungle Boss’ HERE.
